Founders, Mendy and David, both cut their teeth in the emergency medical services (EMS) industry, working as volunteers for an ambulance service at their local branch. This experience allowed them to see some of the problems with the medical supplies industry first hand.
When working with their suppliers they would often find themselves being frustrated by the poor quality of their services.
Some of the common problems included:
- Receiving cheaper versions of the products they ordered
- Receiving orders with a mix of brands for the same product
- Finding it impossible to speak with someone on the phone
- Placing orders and receiving only half the units, only to find that the other half would be delivered weeks later
These problems were ongoing and had a massive impact on the efficiency of the services they provided.
It was clear to Mendy and David that there was room in the market for a supplier that cared more about their customers and supported them just as they would have wanted themselves.
After years of frustration, they teamed up to create the Smart Medical Solutions – the medical supplies solution they had always hoped for.
